MY SUMMER OBSESSION: FOUTAS. These hand-woven textiles, made of Egyptian cotton, are great beach towels. They’re superabsorbent, don’t hang on to sand, roll up into a tiny bundle and dry quick as a flash. They’re also versatile: You can use them as a tablecloth, a bath towel, a wrap or a throw. I own nine of them—I simply can’t resist the vivid colors and vibrant stripes. Megan and Andrew Sullivan sell foutas imported from Tunisia at local pop-up markets, including Sacramento’s Midtown Farmers Market, River City Marketplace and Urban Air Market in San Francisco. Cost: $25 for one, $100 for five.
