A valuable gardening resource has sprouted in Sacramento. Former Sacramento Bee writers Debbie Arrington and Kathy Morrison founded their blog, Sacramento Digs Gardening, to fill a void in local gardening content. Their daily posts address everything from weather conditions to plant diseases to practical gardening checklists. They’ve also compiled a comprehensive events calendar highlighting garden-related meetings, classes, tours and more.
“We’re striving to be a garden resource so that people don’t have to search around for the information themselves,” says Arrington, who is an expert rosarian. Her writing is filled with helpful advice for all types of gardeners, from novice to veteran. Morrison, meanwhile, is an avid tomato grower and consummate baker.
